New Mexico Exchange Carrier Group (NMECG)

The New Mexico Exchange Carrier Group is a coalition of ten independent telecommunications providers dedicated to serving the rural communities of New Mexico. Together, we deliver reliable voice and broadband services to some of the most geographically challenging and underserved regions of the state.

Formed to strengthen collaboration across the industry and to advocate with policymakers and regulators, NMECG serves as a unified voice for rural telecom. Our mission is to ensure that all New Mexicans—regardless of location—have access to high-quality, affordable communications services.

Despite the logistical challenges posed by distance, terrain, and limited population density, our member companies continue to invest in modern infrastructure, local jobs, and customer-first service. That commitment makes it possible to bridge the digital divide and support the health, education, economy, and quality of life in the communities we call home.

Congressional Staff See Impact of Broadband Firsthand

If it’s August, it means it’s time for the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Congressional Broadband Tour. This annual event brings congressional staff members to different parts of the country to learn about rural broadband and how it is critical for education, health care, economic prosperity and thriving rural communities. From August 12-15, the tour went to southeastern New Mexico, where 15 staff members from the House of Representatives spent many hours on a bus, visiting the facilities or meeting with leaders from seven different NTCA—The Rural Broadband Association members in the state, as well as local business and community leaders.
